Getting started
Connect an Angel One account
Link an Angel One account with your SmartAPI key and log in each day with your PIN and authenticator code.
What you need
- An Angel One trading account and a SmartAPI app (smartapi.angelone.in) — you need its API key.
- An authenticator app set up for your Angel One login (TOTP).
- A plan that includes live accounts (see Billing).
Connect
- Accounts → Add account → Angel One, give it a name.
- Click Connect and enter your Angel One client ID and SmartAPI key. They are encrypted and kept only by the trading engine.
Log in each day
Click Log in to Angel One and enter your PIN and the 6-digit code from your authenticator app. They are sent once to Angel One to start the day's session and are not stored. After 5 wrong attempts in 10 minutes, logins pause for a few minutes so your Angel One account is not locked.
How orders and updates work
Orders go to Angel One with the same checks as any order. Order status is read from Angel One's order book every couple of seconds while your orders are working.
Static IP and exchange rules (since 1 April 2026)
SEBI's retail algo framework applies to every order sent through a broker API, including orders sent through TradeBridge.
- Static IP. Angel One accepts order placement, modification and cancellation only from the static IP address registered in your SmartAPI profile (a primary static IP, plus an optional secondary one; one change per calendar week). Requests from any other address are rejected. Reading data (balance, order book, positions, prices) works from any address.
- 10 orders a second. Up to 10 orders a second need no separate exchange registration. TradeBridge never sends faster than that per account.
- No market orders. Angel One does not accept market or IOC orders from algorithmic trading. A MARKET order from TradeBridge (yours, a webhook's, copy trading's or an exit) is sent as a LIMIT order up to 2% from your live price (5% for options) so it fills like a protected market order. Without a live price, the order is refused and you are told why.
- Your responsibility. Registering the IP, and staying within the broker's terms for API and third-party use, is between you and Angel One. If you are unsure whether your setup is allowed, ask Angel One's API support before trading.
